“100 years from now it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money was in my bank account nor what my clothes looked like, but the world may be a better place because I was important in the life of a child.”

A CASA volunteer provides a judge with carefully researched information about the child and the child's life in order to help the court make a sound decision about that child's future.

The CASA volunteer represents the best interest of the child in court. The CASA will obtain information about the child and his/her current situation by interviewing individuals in the child's life such as: social workers, medical professionals, counselors, teachers, foster parents, and others. CASAs submit detailed written reports to the judge and attend the child's court hearings. CASAs monitor the child's case until the child is in a safe and permanent home. A CASA volunteer "speaks up for the child" in court and is often the only consistent person in the child's life.
